Nizhny Novgorod cable car line features a 3,661m long cable car system connecting the city of Nizhny Novgorod and the town of Bor with a 13 minutes journey, which provides impressive views of the great Russian river Volga to passengers. It has a capacity of 1,000 passengers per hour with 56 cable cars on a pair of ropeways. The level difference between Nizhny Novgorod station and Bor station is 62 metres. Each car has a capacity of eight passengers.
This scenic cableway running above the Volga from Nizhny Novgorod station on the west bank to Bor station on the east bank was opened to public in 2012. It was built to provide a mean of transport for people travelling between Nizhny Novgorod and Bor. But immediately it has become a popular tourist attraction, used on account of its excellent views of the Upper Part of the city and meadows, lakes and hills surrounding it.
The cable car line may be experienced either as a one-way (in either direction) or return journey. Tickets should be purchased prior to boarding.
